NO! The iBike Dash ™ includes an iBike Phone Booth ™ with patented electronics inside it, a steer-tube mount bracket, a wireless speed sensor (with the power meter, also cadence and HR sensors), spare battery and charger (standard with power meter, optional with bike computer), as well as a free iBike "app" that downloads from the iTunes Store.
Install the app, attach the bracket and speed sensor to your bike, slide the Phone Booth on to your bracket, and plug your iPhone/iPod Touch in to the Phone Booth. You're ready to ride!
Back to QuestionsHow do I set up the iBike Dash? How long does it take? Can my bike shop do it for me? Just how difficult is it?
The iBike app guides you through each simple setup step, with on-screen directions and videos! Going through the on-screen setup takes only about 2 minutes, and because of the new technology incorporated into the iBike Dash mount, electronics and iBike software, Tilt Cal, Cal Wind, and Cal Ride steps are eliminated!
Install the steer tube bracket, attach the wireless mount, go through the guided setup screens. THAT'S IT!
Both you and your bike shop will find the iBike Dash a breeze to setup and use.
Back to QuestionsDoes the iBike Dash record my ride data?
Yes. If you're using an iPhone you’ll get full GPS data, along with other vital cycling data (speed, distance time), laps, and more. iBike Dash + Power ™ adds cadence, HR, power, elevation, wind speed, and hill slope data. Cadence and HR are options for the cycling computer. If you have a 16GB iPod/iPhone, you can record up to 6,000,000 miles of rides at one second intervals before you will need to erase your ride files.
Back to QuestionsHow do I transfer my ride data from the iBike app to my computer?
Wirelessly! Email your ride files to as many as three different addresses you select, using WiFi or the 3G/Edge connection (iPhone only). With wireless 3G emails, you can even send your ride file to your coach in the middle of a training session—amazing!
Back to QuestionsIs there iBike software for my Mac and PC that reads the iBike Dash ride files?
Yes, with the iBike Dash there is a new, free version of iBike software that will read iBike Dash files and that will exploit the GPS data that is standard with iPhone-recorded files.
Back to QuestionsIs the iBike Dash wireless?

The cycling computer ships with a wireless speed sensor, and the power meter ships with combined speed/cadence and HR sensors. The power meter also receives ANT+ DFPM signals (optional with cycling computer).
